First Baptist Church welcomes Pastor Bill Gowder and his wife Becky as our new Senior Pastor

Senior Pastor has been called to serve First Baptist Church Friendsville.
Pastor Bill Gowder will begin his ministry at FBC Friendsville as Senior
Pastor on January 30th. Pastor Bill was extended a call to serve on January
22nd with a compelling vote of confidence. Pastor Bill comes from West
Park Baptist Church in Knoxville where he has been serving as Pastor of
Membership and Ministries since 2007. Pastor Bill received his Master of
Divinity Degree from Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana. He has served in
churches in Florida, Georgia and Canada. “I believe the Lord primarily made
me to exhort people to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ,” says
Pastor Bill. He looks forward to beginning his service at FBC Friendsville
where he will lead the ministerial staff consisting of Scott Kidd –
Children’s Pastor, Tony Taylor – Worship Pastor and Kevin Boling – Youth
Pastor. Pastor Bill’s family consists of wife Becky, daughters Katie and
Kara and son Caleb. We are looking forward to the leadership that Pastor
Bill will provide as FBC Friendsville ministers to the people of
Friendsville and our local community.
